Mr. M.A.Baby, Minister for Education and Culture in Kerala, and Mr. Gautam Bambawale, Consul General

On the morning of May 14, President HU Jun and Vice President JIA Yimin met the delegation led by Mr. M.A.Baby, Minister for Education and Culture of Kerala in India, and Mr. Gautam Bambawale, Consul General of India in Guangzhou. Prof. JIA Haitao, Director of Institute for Chindian Studies, Prof. YU Huifen, Director of International Affairs Office (IAO) and Mr. LI Lijia, Deputy Director of IAO attended the meeting.

President HU briefly introduced the history, academic structure and exchange between JNU and India to the guests. He expressed his hope in concrete co-operations and exchanges in more subjects and fields with India, particularly Kerala.

Mr. M.A. Baby and the delegation spoke highly of the cooperation between JNU and India. He thought the exchange and communications between the two ancient civilizations could bring positive impact to the world. Then the two sides had discussions on bilateral co-operation and issues like financial crisis, and higher education etc.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the AlumniBuilding.
