JNU to commemorate its 50th anniversary of reconstruction and 30th anniversary of rehabilitation

Mr. Hu Jun, president of our university delivered a speech to review the 30 years after the rehabilitation from several aspects including reform & development, disciplines construction, research, international cooperation and the university s contribution in the development of Guangdong Province. In the past 30 years he said, Jinan University seized the opportunity of open-up and made historic progress and became a famous university in China.

Guangdong province has been leading in the process of China s open-up and reform and Jinan University carried out a series of reform on this promising land: the first university in China setting up a board of trustees, the first university setting up a specialized research institute on the study of overseas Chinese, the first comprehensive university setting up medical school, the first university in Guangdong Province offering pre-university education to overseas students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and having turned out talents for the three regions and having contributed its part in the union of the Chinese nation.

The university makes progress in enhancement of teaching quality and makes many breakthroughs in field of science and technology. It is the think tank of Guangdong Province and has undertaken many important programs of Guangdong Province.
