On May 7 to 8, the Theoretical Workshop on China-US Relations under the Obama Administration: Theory & Policy , held by the Center for American Studies of School of Asia-Pacific Studies, took place in Conference Room One of Liang Qiuju Hall. many famous experts from home and abroad were invited to the meeting, including researchers from the Institute of American Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tao Wenzhao, Chairman of Research Association for China-US Relations, Wu Boen from Fudan University, Zhang Ruijiang from Nankai University, Hu Weixing from University of Hong Kong, Wang Jianwei & Chen Dingding from University of Macao, Wu Jinping, Zhang Zhenjiang & Chen Yiping from Jinan University, Chen Hanxi & Shi Aiguo from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies as well as David Shambaugh and other 4 Fulbright scholars from the United States. Meanwhile, the teachers and some students of School of Asia-Pacific Studies also attended the meeting.

They conducted extensive discussions and communications regarding China-US relations on energy, environment, non-traditional security elements, economy & Taiwan issue and the two sides strategic countermeasures.
