Professor Chen Yongmin from The University of Colorado visited Linnan College
Professor Chen Yongmin, lifelong professor in economic of The University of Colorado, chief economic professor of Stanford Calderwood, and Changjiang scholar chair professor, visited Linnan College and gave an academic lecture on "The Research Framework of Industrial Organization Theory"on June 15th. Prof. Chen is an authoritative expert and one of the most outstanding scholars of Chinese descent in the field of industrial organization (short for IO).
The lecture was held in Wang Daohan meeting room at four o'clock in the afternoon. Both teachers and students of Linnan College attended the lecture. Prof. Chen gave a brief and general introduction on the research object and framework of industrial organization. He expounded the research methods, contents and development of IO theory, and pointed out that the research framework of IO is "WWH", which stands for Why, What and How, that is the causes of enterprise marketing behavior, its influence on consumer benefit and market competition, and its effects on government enterprise policy. At the end of the lecture, Prof. Chen had an interaction with teachers and students present. He gave a detailed reply to the questions about how to demonstrate IO theory research, active fields in IO nowadays and the relationship between innovation and enterprise organization.
