SYSU held an academic seminar on cross-straits relations after ECFA signed

Mainland China and Taiwan signed Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement(ECFA) on July 29th, which was a great event in cross-straits relationship and would have a great promoting effect on the peaceful development of cross-straits relationship. The SYSU research institute of Taiwan responded quickly to this event, and held an academic seminar on cross-straits relations after ECFA signed on the morning of July 7th, discussing the new relationship of present cross-straits relationship.

Scenes of the seminar
The seminar was hosted by Chen Chunsheng, SYSU vice president and Head of research institute on Taiwan. More than twenty specialists and scholars attended the seminar, including scholars of SYSU from Department of History, school of Asia-Pacific studies, school of Law, Linnan School, School of Foreign Languages and research center on Hongkong, Macao and Pearl River Delta. There were also scholars from universities such as Guangdong Tai ban, Guangdong Taiwan studies, Guangdong Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Jinan University. There were three topic discussions and a round-table forum, carrying out discussions in respect to issue of trading tie, history, culture and law, political relationship and the effects of ECFA on cross-traits relationship. The atmosphere of the seminar was warm and scholars enthusiastically stated their opinions. What is worth mentioning is the round-table forum, in which scholars presented their sights clearly and had an insightful understanding.
