President of University Autonomy of Yucatan in Mexico visits SYSU

M. Phil. Alfredo F. J.D jer Abimerhihe, president of University Autonomy of Yucatan and Andr s Aluja Schunemann, director of Foreign Affairs Office, visited SYSU from June 20th-23th. President Huang Daren and vice president Xu Ningsheng met with the guests respectively. The two sides expressed good intentions to further expand cooperation on other disciplines based on the platform of Confucius College.
President Huang Daren spoke highly of UADY s schooling philosophy, which is to provide educational opportunity for the poor and serve for the society . During their stay at SYSU, the guests also visited the east campus and Zhuhai campus and were impressed with the beautiful environment of SYSU and the rapid development of the disciplines.

UADY, established in February, 1922, is one of the excellent comprehensive public universities. Similar to SYSU, UADY is also a comprehensive university with a long history for arts, sciences and medicine. UADY, which holds 16,400 students, has 5 campuses, 15 schools and 2 research institutes. Since 2006 when they jointly established the Confucius College, the two universities have been communicating frequently on cultural education. Up to now, UADY has held 8 phases of study classes in Introductory Chinese , Primary Chinese and Tourism Chinese , which consist of 35 classes with about 500 trainees.
