The reading room in the name of Prof. Qiu Fazu was unveiled in the medical library of Tongji Medical College on June 12.
After Prof. Qiu s death, his wife and children donated his books collections and various medals of honors to the University. These collections are the lifetime dedication of Prof. Qiu, many of which are of reading and collection values. Prof. Qiu is devoted to curing the sickness, educating students and writing books. He was strict with scholarship and noted for his virtue and professional skills.
The reading room is established to spread Qiu s spirit. Dr. Hualai Qiu, his son, noted, he hoped every user and visitor of the reading room can sense a spirit and an ambience, which is to seek truth, work assiduously and meticulously and fulfill his duties without any complaint, which is also a work spirit and life attitude to think of others and the society over himself.
The reading room displays an array of books and medals. When counting the number of the medals student visitors showed their surprises. To everyone, the honor is not only the comment to Qiu, but also an embodiment of his lifetime s hard work.
