From July 5 to 6, Workshop on Theory and Geometric Methods for Integrated Digital Design-Manufacture-Measurement of Complex Surfaceswas held at HUST International Academic Exchange Center. The seminar was co-hosted by HUST and National Natural Science Foundation, co-organized by the Mechanical Institute and Notational Key Laboratory on Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology. Nearly 200 representatives, including Experts from Canada, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, National Natural Science Foundation and domestic universities, the students and teachers of "2010 International Training Workshop of Robot, Mechanical Design and Machinery Manufacturing on Differential Geometry", as well as other Mechanical Engineering related professionals, attended the meeting.
In the two-day seminar, 13 experts and scholars presented reports revolving topics like "Complex Surface Design - Machining - Celiang Integration", "High-Speed Dynamic Analysis and Precision Milling Guocheng forecast," " The Geometric Methods on Robots, Machine Design and Manufacture" "Multi-Axis CNC Machining and Tool-Path Optimization", "Differential Algebraic Equations Geometry Integration Methods" and so on. The scholars include : Professor Gu Peihua international renowned experts in CAD / CAM field, academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering , Professor Feng Gang world-renowned expert in intelligent control and intelligent, IEEE Fellow, City University of Hong Kong , Professor Li Zexiang an internationally renowned experts in robotics and automation, IEEE Fellow, Hong Kong University , Professor Chan Wing Wah internationally renowned experts in digital design and manufacturing, Hong Kong University , Professor Ding Han 973 Chief Scientist, Huazhong University of Science and Technology , Professor Xiong Caihua Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor, Huazhong University of Science and Technology . Some other young experts and professors who have been very active and outstanding in the field, namely, Professor Zhu Limin, Professor Peng Fangyu, Dr. Gonghu, Dr. Li Wencheng, Dr. Huang Yongan, Dr. Bi Qingzhen , and Tao Ye PhD. These reports will remarkably facilitate our manufacturing science, robotics, digital design and manufacturing, and multi-axis CNC machining and other disciplines.
It is reported that the "2010 International Training Workshop of Robot, Mechanical Design and Machinery Manufacturing on Differential Geometry " which is co-lectured by Professor Li Zexiang and Professor Harald L we who is from Computational Mathematics Institute of Mathematics Department, Braunschweig University of Technology , will be continued until the end of this month.
