Professor Li Shuhua of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering won the 11th National Award for Youth in Science and Technology presented jointly by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the C.P.C., the Ministry of Personnel and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) on January 13.
The National Award for Youth in Science and Technology was established to honor the outstanding young scientists in various disciplines and fields and facilitate the emergence of more young talents in science and technology. The award takes into account the nominees` scientific contribution and moral quality in its assessment.
Prof. Li received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Nanjing University in 1996. In 2000, he became an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, Nanjing University. In 2002, he was promoted to be a full professor. He is now the vice director of the Institute of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (ITCC), and also the vice director of the Key Laboratory of Mesoscopic Chemistry of the Ministry of Education, Nanjing University.
