On March 23 the School of Foreign Studies of Nanjing University (NJU) was honored with the title of Meritorious Unit by the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and the People s Government of Nanjing Municipality for its contributions to Nanjing s successful bid to host the 2nd Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2014.
Prof. Wang Shouren, Prof. Xu Jun and Prof. Zhao Wenshu of the School of Foreign Studies were awarded the title of Meritorious Individuals. Prof. Ding Yanren and Prof. Zhang Xinmu received the title of Model Individuals.
To support Nanjing s bid for the YOG, faculty of the School of Foreign Studies translated all the bid documents, including the bid report, the introduction of main venues, the guarantee contract, the budget, the bid presentation, the official website and so on.
