NJU  Launches  Three  New  Schools:  A  Key  Step  Towards  Disciplinary  Optimization
Nanjing University (NJU) on December 30 formally launched three new schools the School of Physics, the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, and the School of Modern Engineering and Applied Sciences at a ceremony presided over by NJU Vice President Zhang Rong.
Mr. Xu Ming, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, Mr. Xu Zhongzi, Vice Mayor of Nanjing, NJU Chancellor Hong Yinxing and President Chen Jun, jointly unveiled the bronze plaques to mark the official opening of the schools.
The establishment of the three schools is a milestone in NJU s long-term development plan to expand its disciplines from the field of basic science to engineering and high and new technology, and achieve balanced development among arts, science, engineering and medicine, said Chancellor Hong Yinxing.
