China: Pingxiang takes lead in foreign trade in Guangxi

The import and export value of enterprises in Pingxiang, a county-level city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, surged 237.86% year on year to US$355 million in January, according to data from the Pingxiang Commerce Bureau.
The trade figure accounts for 24.62% of the total imports and exports in Guangxi, and ranks first among all cities in the region. Exports increased to US$335 million in January, up 266.16% compared with the same month of last year.
Pingxiang port, the largest port for China-ASEAN fruit trade, saw the fruit trade volume hit 92,800 tons in January, with the trade value reaching US$32.88 million.
Exports of mechanical and electric products amounted to US$124 million in the month, up nearly 30% from the same period of 2009.
