10:58 a.m. on December 20 was a miracle moment for China s wind power industry. 5MW 62m composite wind turbine blade and 1.5MW bamboo fiber composite wind turbine blade came offline synchronously at Lianyungang Zhongfu Lianzhong Composites Group Co., Ltd.; and Zhongfu Lianzhong national postdoctoral research workstation was inaugurated at the same time. The 5MW blade is currently the world s largest wind turbine blade, and the commissioning of the 1.5MW bamboo fiber blade was the first of its kind at home.

Qiao Guanghui, general manger of Zhongfu Lianzhong, introduced that wind turbines had become increasingly large in the world in recent years, and European companies like Repower and Enercon had successively developed 5MW wind turbines. This year, China s first 5MW wind turbine was offline at Sinovel.

As a major partner of Sinovel, Zhongfu Lianzhong developed the 5MW wind turbine blade for Sinovel, and completed R & D work such as aerodynamic shape design, structural design and mold design and manufacture. With a length of 62m, a maximum chord length of 4.5m and a preflex length of 1.5m, the blade is currently the world s longest commercialized blade, applies to Category I fetches, matches onshore, intertidal and offshore 5MW wind turbines, has outstanding aerodynamic performance, has a Cp value of 0.

487, uses a special paint system and a superficial protector, and acclimatizes to operating environments such as salt fog, sand wind, low temperature and strong UV.

The 40.3m 1.5MW bamboo fiber, released in parallel, was structurally optimized based on bamboo s characteristics and manufactured through advanced process. Blade development accords with the requirements of low-carbon economic development. As a natural material, bamboo is a green material for wind turbine blade.

Blade development makes bamboo a high-value-added product, and promotes the applications of bamboo in various industries as a high-performance structural material. It is not only a reflection of the strong capacity of Zhongfu Lianzhong for technical innovation, but also a practical action of CNBM to pay attention to environment and shoulder social responsibility.

Offshore wind power is the current trend of the wind power industry. The successful commissioning of the 5MW blade will further consolidate the leading role of Zhongfu Lianzhong in the international and domestic wind turbine blade industry.
