Soil & More International at the Global conference on agriculture, food security and climate change

The conference, which takes place from 31st of October till 5th of November 2010 in The Hague, is organized by the government of the Netherlands, in close cooperation with the Governments of Ethiopia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Vietnam, the World Bank and the FAO. Over 500 international leaders from Governments, international organizations, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, philanthropic foundations, local community producers and the scientific community, will together develop a roadmap with concrete actions linking agriculture-related investments, policies and measures, to the transition to lower carbon-emitting climate resilient growth. The agricultural sector is one of the causes, but can be the solution to many of the world problems.
Soil & More international is active in setting up medium to large scale composting facilities in developing countries. Thereby it reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but also improves the soil quality, reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, pesticides and irrigation water, increases waste recycling and creates jobs and a more stable income and yield for farmers.
Soil & More is involved in 3 side-events during this high level conference. During one of the side events Soil & More's founder and managing partner, Aart van den Bos, will explain the business model which combines ecological, social and economical returns. Soil & More will share its "real life" experience in setting up successful composting projects. Hussen Ahmed (Soil & More Ethiopia) will present the progress and experiences in setting up a new composting project in Ziway, Ethiopia.
