CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Villages and towns along rivers in Yubei District of Chongqing organized over 45,000 persons to plant more than 300,000 trees at banks of the Yangtze River and its branches on March 9, 2011. Villager Zhou Huimin from Luoqi Town, who has participated in the tree-planting activity thrice, says happily that the villagers come to plant trees instead of doing farm work because they really want to do something for the society. It is learned that Yubei District will plant trees on the area of 7,106 mu between 175-m water level of the Yubei Section of the Yangtze River and the 1st ridge line in 2011.
