CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing has been making Chongqing Evaluation Standard for Low-carbon Buildings, which may be published in September 2011. It is reported that this is also the first local evaluation standard in China for low-carbon buildings.

Currently, Chongqing has buildings of 470 million square meters, including the buildings constructed before 2005 which do not meet the energy-saving standard. During the 12th Five-Year Plan, Chongqing plans to construct 20-million-square meter low-carbon buildings and reconstruct 3.5-million-square meter existing buildings.

In addition, Chongqing has been also making Chongqing Evaluation Standard for Low-carbon Buildings in order to take concerted low-carbon action during the 12th Five-Year Plan. (Translated by Sun Hongxia, Fathom Language Limited)
