CHONGQING(CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Municipal Government on March 15 approved the overall plan of Wanzhou District in the following 10 years. According to the plan, Wanzhou will be the municipality s second largest urban area by the year of 2020.
The modified overall plan defined Wanzhou as the second largest urban area of Chongqing, the economic center of the Three Gorges Reservoir area, etc. Its population and construction area are expected to be some 1 million persons and 100 square kilometers respectively by 2015; and by about 2020, the above two are expected to be about 1.3 to 1.5 million and 135 square kilometers respectively.
