CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- China Scholar Merchant Head Chamber of Commerce held the donation ceremony of bronze statue of Confucius in Chongqing Normal University on April 10, 2011. About 300 overseas Chinese and scholar merchants from Philippines, Malaysia, Brazil and other countries, and teacher and student representatives of Chongqing Normal University attended the unveiling event.
China Scholar Merchant Head Chamber of Commerce donates bronze statues of Confucius to universities in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, aiming to carry on the essence of traditional culture and Confucius culture. Chongqing Normal University is the first university receiving the bronze statue of Confucius in the west of China.
The bronze statue of Confucius, with height of 3.8 meters and weight of 2.5 tons which, is placed in Library Square of Huxi Campus of Chongqing Normal University. (Translated by Li Yao, Fathom Language Limited)
