The five Miss Asia Pagent contestants felt so excited to have the opportunity to hold pandas which were born last year and arecurrently about 8 months old. The panda weighed over 30 pounds. He was so excited about getting his treats that he even grabbed at the ladies. This made the ladies a little nervous but they couldn t help but exclaim, The panda is so cute!
Betty Chan appeared to be the most natural holding a panda. She felt a sense of amazement when the national treasure was in her armsbut she never realized how heavy a panda cub can be. Ms. Chan came to Sichuan with her son and while she would ve loved for him to have had a chance to hold a panda as well, the animals needed their rest and so arrangements were made for her and her son to feed them apples instead..
Ms. Chan later said that she plans to visit Dujiangyan as well, one of the cities hit hard by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. The primary purpose for this trip was to learn about the survivors lives post quake and how the rebuilding is going.
