Zhang Jianzhong presents a landscape painting exhibition

Sponsored by Chinese Artists Association and Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Anhui province, a landscape painting exhibition of Zhang Jianzhong is currently on view at Hall 7 until Oct. 21. The exhibition showcases a total of more than 30 masterpieces.

Zhang Jianzhong learnt painting since childhood and has been devoted to the art course for several decades. He takes the Mount Huangshan as the base for his painting creation. He has researched on a large number of works of the Mount Huangshan School of painting which was formed at the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty and also studied the works and the theories by the masters of the school, including Shi Tao and Huang Binhong.

Zhang Jianzhong has climbed the Mount Huangshan for dozens of times, which helped him know the Mount Huangshan as the spectacular and majestic mountain. The Mount Huangshan he paints boasts grandeur and magnificence.

Zhang Jianzhong is one of the representatives for the contemporary Mount Huangshan School of paintings, the first Chinese member of the International Society for Education through Art (InSEA) of UNESCO, and honorary lifetime chairman of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Society of U.S.A. and his works has been on various exhibitions overseas for many times.

In order to train more talents and painters for the Huangshan School, the artist founded Huangshan Academy of Painting and Calligraphy in 1983 and has launched relevant education and training for more than 10,000 students in the past two decades.
