According to a regulation issued in 2008, Nanning is to give strong support to the development of MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) industry. From 2008 to 2010, the city is to allocate 10 million yuan each year as the supporting fund for MICE industry. In 2009, MICE industry has yielded great achievements: up to November, all together 50 conferences and exhibitions, 11 food festivals and 10 auto exhibitions, with total sales revenue of about 3.5 billion yuan, have taken place,. Among them, the 2nd China-ASEAN (Nanning) International Auto Exhibition, the 16th China International Advertising Festival, 2009 Nanning Southeast Asia International Tourism Food Festival and 2009 Nanning Consumer Goods Fair are the most noticeable as they have not only enhanced the popularity and reputation of Nanning at home and abroad but also effectively boosted consumption to assist the growth of the consumer goods market in the city. 18 exhibitions/conferences have applied for the supporting fund and totally 3,382,700 yuan have so far been granted to the competent organizers.
