Wuming Makes Progress in Science and Technology

2009 Conference on National Science and Technology Award was held in Beijing days ago, at which Wuming County was on the List of 2007-2008 Counties with Science and Technology Progress. Along with Wuming County, other 27 Guangxi counties/districts were awarded with this honor.

In recent years, Wuming County has launched scientific promotion activities of various kinds such as National Science Spreading Day, October Science Spreading Campaign and Science Ecology Thematic Campaign, resulting in an atmosphere that the whole society has joined in science spreading activities. In the work of vitalizing agriculture via science and technology, the mechanism of rural scientific service has been improved. So far, the county s scientific and technological work has been promoted by establishing rural scientific and technological information service networks, courtyard of cassava experts, courtyard of longan experts, piloting spots of technological commissioners, Association of Rural Professional Technology, demonstration bases of cassava, fruits and sugar canes. Besides, scientific and technological projects have been organized and implemented. 5 scientific and technological achievements have been made, 4 projects accepted; and Wuming County has won 2 Guangxi Award for Science and Technology Progress and 4 Nanning Award for Science and Technology Progress.
