According to the Haikou Bureau of Parks and Forestry, there will be ten street gardens built in Haikou this year. The plans are currently underway and the gardens are expected to be complete by the end of the year. There will be more than one hundred such gardens in Haikou following the initial ten the Hainan Daily reported on May 18th.
The ten new street gardens will be distributed all over Haikou in major living communities such as Longqi, Longhua and Xiuying. The total coverage of these ten grassy areas is approximately 100,000 square meters with an estimated investment of 21 million RMB.
