According statistics released by Haikou Customs, from January to July this year, Hainan's total exports and imports to and from ASEAN countries totalled 710 million US dollars, up by 42.6% on the previous year. This figure was made up of 380 million US Dollars of exports and 330 million US dollars of imports. Exports to ASEAN countries amounted to 31% of total export from the province. The figures indicate that ASEAN countries have become the biggest export market for Haikou, according to the Haikou Evening News.
