Sichuan s eco-tourism revenue hit 21 billion RMB by the end of 2010, a 22.7% increase over last year, while Sichuan s Eleventh Five-Year Plan estimated only 8 billion RMB. This year over 139 million tourists visited nature reserves, forest parks, swamps and the Sichuan country side. Countryside tourism brought in an estimated 15 billion RMB, 71.4% of the total annual revenue.
Eco-tourism industry has become a major influence in enhancing the economic development of the rural Sichuan.
