Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality are pooling their resources to promote tourism. Tourism administrations, tour operators and media from the both areas attended the opening ceremony yesterday in Chongqing. It is the first joint tourism promotion to be done in the western China. Fun in Sichuan and Leisure time in Chongqing picked as the official slogan to promote this new partnership. More than 20 new travel itineraries are being put in place to promote tourism of both Sichuan and Chongqing. In April 2011, Sichuan and Chongqing will build a booth together in the Domestic Tourism Mart. Later this year, the two provinces will also hold a series of promotional events in other provinces of China.
