Sichuan Tourism Administration released the 2010 Provincial Tourism Financial Report on Jan.20th. The gross income of the Sichuan tourism industry was 188.6 billion RMB, which increased by 28.1% over last year. Sichuan s inbound travel revenue increased by 21.5% and domestic travel increased by 23.8%. Domestic travel earned 186.2 billion RMB, which is 98.7% of Sichuan s gross income. Malaysia was the largest tourist generating country and they have about 31,800 Malaysian tourists visiting Sichuan last year. This increased by 76.6%, partially because of new direct flights between Chengdu and Malaysia.
