Metro stations, lines to close after Expo

PASSENGERS who use Metro lines 4, 6, 7, 8 and 13 should be aware that they will be ending services earlier or closing completely as of tomorrow as the World Expo has come to an end.
Line 13, the only Metro service with stations inside the Expo sites, will close its Expo service starting tomorrow, while the other four major Expo-related lines will resume their pre-event schedules, meaning the last trains will be earlier by 30 minutes to one hour.
Construction will begin on Line 13 and upon completion, the line will operate from suburban Jiading District to downtown Nanjing Road W. Station, where it will connect to Line 2.
Twelve Metro stations from five other subways, Line 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9, which operated near the Expo site, revert to their original services today - extra train services have been canceled on those lines.
Other city subways will not change their schedules, traffic officials said.
Meanwhile, nine taxi ranks around the entrances and exits of the Expo will also close after the event finishes. More than 3,000 out of the 4,000 Expo taxis will be kept in service.
All the 35 Expo-designated bus routes will remain in service until 2am today.
Most of them are expected to run until November 8.
