THE 6th China Business Travel Forum (CBTF) opens today at Pudong Shangri-la Shanghai.
American Express Business Travel today announced the results of its 2010 China Business Travel Survey (The Barometer) at the opening ceremony. The survey reveals that 41 percent of organisations in China increased their travel spend in 2010, representing a significant 12 percent increase since last year.
The China Business Travel Forum is created and hosted by American Express Business Travel and the Shanghai International Conference Management Organization, a subsidiary of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration. It is a business-to-business educational conference, designed to showcase the business travel industry, foster business relationships and further business travel in China, both domestically and abroad. The Forum, which was first held in Shanghai in 2005, is the first-ever event of its kind in China and features a wide variety of exhibitors including leading airlines, hotel chains, car rental companies as well as technology companies.
Each year, CBTF is designed to reflect the development of the travel industry in China and capture the vibrancy of this industry. For 2010, it has chosen the theme "Driving the Future of Business Travel" to represent the continued strong growth in the industry and the positive outlook for its future.
