CHENSHAN Botanical Garden, one of the city`s largest green areas, is planning to make it easier for visitors to enjoy its attractions this autumn.
The garden, near Sheshan Hill in Songjiang District, said that since it opened to the public in April, only about 120,000 people had visited due to the lack of transport.
A sightseeing bus center is under construction in Songjiang, and the center will have buses going directly to the garden.
The garden would be a riot of color during the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holiday. Plants such as ornamental pumpkins and Victoria amazonica will be on display. The ornamental pumpkins are of different colors and different shapes, while near 160 breeds of trees will turn the gardens into a sea of red, yellow and orange. More than 200,000 sunflowers covering 9,000 square meters will also be in full bloom.
In addition, as the garden contains an abandoned mine, people will be able to enjoy the only waterfall in Shanghai. The waterfall is about 60 meters high.
