Kimchee and Culture

THE Republic of Korea Pavilion celebrates its theme "Friendly City, Colorful Life" today on its National Pavilion Day.
The colorful 6,000-square-meter pavilion - with a facade composed of basic letters of the ROK alphabet - is in Zone A, next to the Asia Joint Pavilion III.
Celebrations include a Korean-style carnival of exhibitions and traditional folk shows. The main show, directed by Kim Seong Soo, features traditional Korean celebrations, China-Korea cultural exchanges, a Korean movie and TV festival, parades and fashion shows.
In the pavilion, four "virtual friends" guide visitors through exhibitions of current and future urban living. The four are a hip young woman, a foreign chef, a woman environmentalist and an IT engineer.
