ITALIAN football champions Inter Milan are to visit the Italy Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 to meet their fans. While they`re here, they`ll also play against local Chinese clubs.
The city of Milan is taking a special interest in the Expo because it is hosting the event in 2015.
A 250-square-meter Expo area on the pavilion`s ground floor will showcase the plans for 2015.
Twelve of the country`s 20 regions will hold temporary exhibitions in turns during the Shanghai event.
The Campania region, where ancient Pompeii stood, will showcase its protection of cultural relics, innovative technology and subway system, said Michela De Risi, project manager China of Citta`Della Scienza, the company in charge of the region`s Expo showcase.
The pavilion will feature paintings regarded as national treasures, such as work by portrait-painter Lavinia Fontana and abstract artist Alberto Burri. Andrea Bocelli is to sing at the Performance Center on June 2, Italy`s National Day.
Some 25,000 to 50,00 people are expected to visit the Italy pavilion each day.
