THE eastern extension of the Metro Line 2 starts trial operation yesterday with the Zhangjiang Station reopening after being closed for 10 days while construction was completed.
The shuttle bus service between the Zhangjiang Station and the Longyang Road Station is therefore canceled, today`s Shanghai Morning Post reported.
Intervals between trains on the line will be increased to 4 minutes and 39 seconds during the trial service.
The new section extends Line 2 to 29 kilometers with 19 stations from the west terminal at Songhong Road Station to Guanglan Road Station in east.
