Spring has sprung at festivals

Cherry and peach blossoms are now in bloom across the city and local-grown strawberries are bursting with flavour, giving plenty of options for spring outings.
Gucun Park in northern Baoshan District will launch the first Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival on March 30. The event will also include a photography exhibition, folk arts, barbecue, sporting events and children`s activities.
More than 20 varieties of cherry blossoms will be on display at the festival that runs until April 20. Gucun Park Station is on Metro Line 7.
In the Pudong New Area, the annual Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival begins on March 25. For Chinese people, the peach symbolizes longevity and prosperity.
Pudong Peach Garden covers 5,333.3 hectares, the biggest in east China. In addition to the peach trees, visitors can also enjoy a food gala and folk arts.
Meanwhile, head to Baihe Town in western Qingpu District for the Second Baihe Town Strawberry Festival.
The festival runs between March 19 and April 19. Baihe is the most famous strawberry producing town in China.
