Mainland Tourism Industry Circle Contributes Funds to the Disaster-hit Areas of Taiwan


On October 29, at the welcoming reception of the 4th Cross-Strait Taipei International Travel Fair, Wang Zhifa, Honorary Vice President of Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association and the head of mainland tourism industry delegation handed over 1 million yuan of contribution to the disaster-hit areas of Taiwan from the mainland to Janice Lai, President of the Taiwan Strait Tourism and Travel Association.

In August this year, hit by "Morak", Taiwan suffered a rare typhoon disasters in history. The lives and property of Taiwan compatriots suffered heavy losses, especially the transport infrastructure and tourist attractions in central and southernTaiwan regions. In order to help Taiwan s tourism industry overcome the disaster as soon as possible and return to normal order, Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association issued an initiative on August 19 to appeal to the tourism enterprises and individuals to take positive action and contribute funds to help Taiwan compatriots do a good job in post-disaster re-building. China tourism industry responds positively to the call, has extended a helping hand and positively contributed to Taiwan compatriots in the disaster areas, with the total contributions of one million yuan. It is said that the Taiwan side will use the donation for the restoration of tourist scenic spots and road transport facilities repair.
