The following are some China economic news items in brief.
JIANGSU EXPORTS MORE VEGETABLES
East China's Jiangsu Province exported 160 million U.S. dollars worth of vegetables in the first four months of this year, a rise of 39.1 percent on the same period of last year, according to the local customs house.
Of the total exports, 53 percent, or 86.47 million U.S. dollars worth, were sold to the European Union, up 41.1 percent year on year.
Between January and April, Jiangsu also exported 34.18 million U.S. dollars worth of vegetables to Japan, down 0.2 percent year on year, and 19.97 million dollars worth to the Republic of Korea, up 110 percent.
JILIN TO BOOST DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRONICS, IT INDUSTRY
The electronics and information technology sector of northeast China's Jilin Province plans to generate an annual average growth rate of 26 percent, according to the provincial bureau of industry and information technology.
The sector will strive for a national leading position in production of optical electronics, auto electronics and new-type parts and components.
In terms of optical electronics, efforts will be focused on development and application of light-emitting semi-conductors components, laser products and optical electronic instruments and equipment.
In terms of auto electronics, mass production will be achieved for car electronics, vehicle body control systems and chassis control system.
GUANGDONG'S CAR AND HOUSING CONSUMPTION GROWS SLOWER
South China's Guangdong Province recorded 71.99 billion yuan in auto retail sales in the first four months of this year, an increase of 22.3 percent on the same period of last year, according to the provincial bureau of statistics.
The growth rate was 17.2 percentage points lower than the year-earlier level.
From January and April, Guangdong sold 19.74 million square meters of commercial houses, up 10.5 percent year on year. The growth rate was 5 percentage points lower than the January-March level.
