Introduce
Present the east station of Zhengyangmen of the railway with respect in Beijing, is commonly called as Qianmen railway station ,It is the earliest railway station of Beijing, lies in the southeast of the Tian anmen Square, to the east of Zhengyangmen, belonged to Chongwen District of Beijing, it is the European style building, established in 1901. It is the museum of Beijing railway now.
History
In 1901, Britain proposed presenting with respect the railway in Beijing to lengthen from Yongdingmen to Zhengyangmen, and built the station nearby. In 1906, the station after building up became the largest railway station of China and hub of communications at that time.
The station has witnessed a lot of historical incidents. In 1924, Feng YuXiang launched coup of Beijing ,Camp at the station. In 1931, the September 18th Incident broke out, over 500 students in Bei Ping made up went down south and saved the nation to demonstrate in the group ,Also set out from here.
In 1959, completed and came into operation in new Beijing Railway Station, the east station of Zhengyangmen has finished its historical mission. 1960 times the beginning, it is old for station Ministry of Railways science and technology museum transformed as,shortly after turn over to Beijing Railway Bureau, reconstruct into Beijing railway Worker s Cultural Palace, build up a theater to use for many years in the waiting room. In 1990 times, remove the theater, the station is reconstructed into old station store With telecommunication market . Until 2001, and then became the historic reservation unit of Beijing. In 2005, original appearance can resume at the station. In 2008, the preparing to establish department of museum of Beijing railway will be established, open formally to August of the same year in the museum.
