Chinese authorities said Tuesday that they have confiscated more than 250,000 illegal compact discs made by a legally-registered plant in south China's Guangdong province.

Police in the city of Shenzhen detained four suspects and seized seven production lines on Sept. 26, as well as a large amount of production materials, according to the National Office Against Pornographic and Illegal Publications (NOAPIP).

An employee of the plant surnamed Zhang, who had played a key role in marketing the discs, was captured in central China's Hubei province on Nov. 1, the NOAPIP said.

The NOAPIP has referred to the seizure as an "important case" and called for a further investigation.
