In the western suburbs of Anshun in Guizhou Province, there exists a magnificent underground cave system with lakes, waterfalls and stalactites, covering an area almost 60 square kilometers (about 23 square miles). Because the main cave looks like the crystal palace where the dragon king lives, it is known as Dragon Palace Cave.
Despite the addition of cheesy music and lights to "enhance" the experience visitors enjoy, if you like caves you can still definitely have a nice time paddling along China's longest underground river (5000 meters) and taking in all the bizarre rock formations despite the kitschy trappings.

The Dragon Palace scenic attractions follow a scenic line of over 3000 meters long, along which there are five groups of scenic destinations joined by an underground river. The scenic journey will start from Bangke Roks, Huayu Pool, Qinyu Cave, Fengshu Cave, Dragon Palace Whirling Pool, Kwan-yin Cave and small Caihua Lake. The underground river measures 28 meters at its deepest and 30 meters at its widest. The narrowest part of the river only has enough space for a small boat to scrape by.

The underground river is like a thread stinging up six spacious limestone caves along the 800 meter-long Dragon Palace scenic route. Access to these water karsts caves by boat trips is the best option.

The Heavenly Lake in front of the Dragon Palace is a small alpine lake. It covers an area of over 10,000 sq. meters and is 43 meters deep. The water is crystal clear and jade-green. Pristine bushes shoot up from craggy cliff rocks around the wisteria-encircled lake. On entering the Dragon Palace, tourists are greeted with stalactite formations, some of them resembling fang-baring and clawing dragons.
The surroundings outside the Longgong Cave are also very attractive featured mountains, rivers, flowers and rich Buyi ethnic customs, especially in spring when square kilometers of golden rapes are in full blossom. Due to the special Karst landform, the rape blossom sight of Longgong Cave Scenic Area presents multilayer in wave shape, which is different to that of the plain. The local people hold Rape blossom Festival every spring, during which there will be various kinds of ethnic minority performances. The seventh Rape blossom Festival is held from February 26 to March 31,2009 when tourists can save 70% discount of the entry price.
