The Detian Scenic Spot lies in Daxin, Chongzuo, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, around 145 kilometers (90 miles) from the downtown area of Nanning and neighboring Vietnam. In this scenic area, there are more than 40 tourist attractions. Among those, the most notable one is the Detian Waterfall.
Detian Falls is the masterpiece of Guichunhe River when it flows over Putang Island. Vast and mighty waters of Guichunhe River roll on incessantly from the north. Putang Island with high cliffs and three peaks stands loftily and firmly and stops anti-river current. The river gushes down from about 50-meter cliff and rushes into solid rocks arousing sprays flying in all directions. The hazy mist in the far distance looks like the thin raw white silk hanging in the day. Watching closely it is like flying the bead and splashing the jade. Refracted by the sunlight they appear multi-colored. And the sound of the gurgling waters echoes in the river valley with an imposing manner. Detian Falls is one of the biggest natural falls on the Southeast Asian continent and also the second biggest transnational falls in the world. It is about 100 meters across and 60 meters down and drops about 50 meters. The falls is connected with Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam just like a couple of closely sisters. The people who live in the Sino-Vietnamese frontier do frontier business. They sent foods by shoulders at the beginning, but now deliver them by bus or ship. It is in magnificent sight all the year round and in different features in different seasons. In spring, the grass becomes green and the wild flower spits colorfully; the waterfall is all around inlaid the multi-colored lace. In autumn, the terraced field is covered with golden color; the leaves wear their own clothes and the mist like high hung silver curtain flushes the sky. In winter, the ice looks like sparkling peals; the waterfalls likes the swishing fine wine; the sprinkling rivulet is blowing in the mountain breeze. In summer, the turbulent current looks like dragons and moving mountains resembling ten thousand horses galloping ahead.
Besides the Detian Waterfall, there are many other attractive scenes awaiting your visit, including the Heishui River, Qiaomiao Lake, Guichun Boundary River, Shatun Waterfall, No.53 Mere Stone and numerous cultural relics and rare animals. Abundant rainfall and moderate temperature gives life to the evergreen plants covering the picturesque landscape.
How to get to the Detian Scenic Spot:
You can choose airplane, train or coach bus to reach Nanning first and then take the coach bus at Nanning North Passenger Transportation Center to go to Daxin County. Upon arrival at Daxin, you should transfer to the bus of the route 'Daxin Qilong Detian'.

Tips:
(1)Detian spot has convenient traffic and completed establishment. There are planes, trains, buses available to Nanning City which is about 140 kilometers drive to the county. From here is about 60 kilometers to Detian Falls. You can reach each spot by car without exhausting climbing.
(2)The best sightseeing season of Detian spot is in April, May, June, July, August and September, among them the biggest water volume is in July and August. The best time to watch falls is from 8:00am to 10:00am, and the worst time is in the afternoon. In busy season, lodging is very difficult; in off-season, the water volume is very few. Therefore the proper time is the second month of spring and at the end of the fall.
(3)In the spot, there are many street peddlers to sell Vietnamese goods. You can exchange RMB to Vietnamese dong as souvenirs. The ration of change is 18:18800. Besides, there are some other goods such as green bean cakes and perfumes.
(4)The ferriage in the spot is 2 Yuan per person for one time; they will not go until ten tourists. It takes 20 Yuan for one person and 30 Yuan for several ones. You may ride bamboo raft under the waterfall to Vietnam and then you can clearly appreciate the falls costing 10 Yuan/person.
(5) There are Detian Mountain Village and the Detian Guesthouse in the Detian Falls scenic area. In the neighborhood there are inns where lodging rooms are very few. The price in busy season is higher (480 Yuan for a standard room); besides there are many boarding houses in Suolong Town, where the condition is common. You d better live in Daxin County where the guesthouses are safe and clean with convenient transportation.
