Dragon Palace Scenic Area, located 27 kilometers (17 miles) southwest of Anshun City and over 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from Huangguoshu Waterfall. It has the longest water limestone cave, the highest waterfall and the lowest natural radiation rate. Therefore, Dragon Palace is regarded as the "Three Most" in China.

It is a wonderland of limestone caves, underground waterways and waterfalls. Unlike other mountain caves in China, the Dragon Palace is actually a group of five successive water-eroded caverns connected by an over 3000-meter (nearly two miles) long underground stream, nearly 1000 meters (3,280 feet) of which has been opened to the public.

The narrowest part of the cave is only two meters (6.6 feet) in width and the highest point can reach over 80 meters (262 feet).

Enchanting sights scattering in the scenic area

This scenic spot covers caverns, caves and waterfalls, including four parts, namely, the Rape Lake, the Whirlpool, the Leech Pass and the Dragon Palace itself with various underground water caves, land caves and ponds on or under the ground. In the scenic area, you will visit Wolong Lake, Yingbing (welcome the guests) Cave, Dragon Gate (longmen) Waterfall, Longtan Heavenly Lake, Dragon Palace Dark Lake, Clam's Shell Rocks and Tiger's Den Cave. Underground falls and imaginatively named sights await you in the cave and surrounding scenic area.

Two chambers

The underground water way within the Dragon Palace forms two chambers: the outer chamber and the inner chamber. In the inner Chamber, there is a flat place serving as a dock, where you have an opportunity to get ashore for a visit. In the outer chamber, there is a platform about 1000 square meters spacious.

Getting off the boat and going up some stone ladders, you soon come to the Tiger's Den Cave, from which some 5400-meter-long stone ladders will take visitors back to the gate again through the Stone Forest Park. There are many kinds of natural plants in this park, natural stone formations and lush, green trees standing crowded side by side, complementing each other in the sunshine.

The spectacular Dragon Gate Waterfall

It is wonderful to visit the waterfall at Dragon Gate (Longmen), the mouth of a cave, where waters from the Heavenly Lake (Tianchi) rush down the cliff and form a unique sight, 33 meters wide, 37 meters high. People describe it as a white dragon coming out of its cave, hence the Longmen, meaning the Dragon Gate in Chinese.

The Sky-Pool

In front of the Dragon Palace, there is an alpine lake surrounded by steep cliffs and towering rocks. It is called "the Sky-Pool" and it is the source of the stunning forty-meter high underground waterfall in front of the palace cave.

Enjoy a exciting boat ride

A boat takes you to the magnificent views in the cave, which goes through the deep labyrinth and brings you to the spacious and bright-lit halls, around which are the stone pillars and a stone forest, in the shape of human beings and animals. The scene keeps changing, as the boat gets deeper into the cave. You may feel just like entering a crystal palace where the dragon king lived in the mythology.
