Dai Temple/Daimiao

To climb the Mount Taishan from the middle way is a main principle in both history and culture, whose point of departure is the Dai Temple, which is also called Temple of the East Scared Mountain or Taishan Mountain Temple. It is located in the north of Tai an city covering an area of 96000 square meters. Dai temple is the largest and most complete ancient building group in Taishan Mountain scenic spot. And it was praised as the Ever-lasting Temple and the temple and courtyard of the East Scared Mountain-Taishan Mountain.

Yaocan Pavilion, also called Caocan Pavilion, bordering the Tongtian Street (one of the oldest street in the spot) and connecting the Zhengyang Gate, is the forecourt of Dai Temple. Every time when the emperors, the dukes and high ministers held formal ceremonies, they must hold simple rituals here first. Between Yaocan Pavilion and Dai Temple, there locates Daimiao Archway, which is a three-storey archway built in Qing Dynasty with delicate design. Tanghuai Courtyard is in the west of the temple, opposing the Hanbo Courtyard in the east. The East Throne is on the north of Hanbo Courtyard. Two attracting relics, Cupreous Pavilion and Iron Tower are situated at the east and west sides of the backyard of Dai Temple.

The Palace of Heavenly Blessing, as the main building of Dai Temple, is called the three palatial architectures in China together with Taihe Palace in Forbidden City of Beijing and Dacheng Palace of Confucian Temple, while its history is unmatched. If the Forbidden City stands for the supreme imperial power, Dacheng Palace stands for the Confucianism to govern a country, and then the Palace of Heavenly Blessing must stand for the divine prosperous country and peaceful life. Inside the palace, the God of Taishan Mountain is enshrined and worshiped.
