Chateau Huadong-Parry is located on Jiulong Hillside at Laoshan Mountain. The chateau has introduced about 13 species of rare grapes from Europe for wine making, such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Gamay. It has established large grape bases in some places. It is not only the key chateau for high-grade wine in China but a well-known scenic spot in Qingdao.
Chateau Huadong-Parry possesses a number of attractions: a statue of Mr. Parry in memory of the initiator, Mr. Parry; Jiulong (Nine Dragons) Pool, which is reportedly the place where nine dragons play; Species Garden, in which more than 150 species of grapes are planted; Jiulong Hillside, which is the location of the chateau; Cultural Corridor, which is 2,000 meters long and surrounds the chateau, and on the pillars of which famous verses and calligraphy have for generations been carved; Huadong Wine Cellar, which is the ideal place to store wines; and the Tower, which is the landmark building of the chateau.
