The temple of Six Banyan Trees is right in the heart of city Guangzhou, just south of the Yuexiu Park. It is the famous Buddhism temple in Guangzhou, with long history and well maintained.
History of temple
The temple of Six Banyan Trees was built in Liang dynasty during the Southern dynasties (386-581). It is said that Emperor Liangwu ordered the master priest, Tanyu to built Baozhuangyan Temple to store the Buddhist bones brought from Kampuchea.
