Remains of Ming-Dynasty Imperial Palace

It was originally the palace of Zhu Yuanzhang, founder of Ming Dynasty. Later when the capital was moved to Beijing, there were only some of the imperial relatives and ministers remained. Later it was changed to military fortress. After the war between the Qing army and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom it was almost leveled. But you still can imagine how grand the palace was at the sight of these jumbo bases of stone pillars.
