According to the officers of the Materials Clearance Services Center for the 16th Asian Games, the materials entering China for the Games has reached a peak, as the event is drawing nearer.
According to Guangzhou Customs District, a 24-hour release-at-appointment model has been used for the games-related materials to ensure high-efficiency under which the logistics center of the organizing committee can directly book Customs officers to handle the clearance work. Based on the facts that the materials are of large quantity, high importance and will enter the country through different ports of entry, several carefully made clearance programs in which duties and tasks are specified have been devised to cope with any possible problems. For goods transit among different Customs Districts, a green channel established according to the principle of declare at home, release at port, and manage in a standardized way was opened to provide one-stop services.
According to the statistics, by October 31, the Materials Clearance Service Center had handled 309 declarations that involve 2527 tons materials valued at USD 40.53 million.
