On December 17th, SASAC Chairman Wang Yong attended a signing ceremony in Beijing to celebrate CPCIF s China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation entry into ICCA International Council of Chemical Associations as an observer.
As Mr Wang Yong said at the meeting with a high-level ICCA delegation, CPCIF s entry into ICCA would help China s chemical industry to integrate with the world. It would also allow ICCA to fully represent the global chemical industry, and more effectively coordinate the important issues within the industry. Mr Wang Yong wished to see more communication and cooperation between CPCIF and ICCA, and encouraged both sides to learn from each other on a mutually beneficial basis, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the Chinese and global chemical industry.
Mr. Andrew N. Liveris, the President of ICCA, and the Chairman and CEO of Dow Chemical Company, welcomed China s entry into ICCA, which made ICCA more global and important. Mr Liveris said, ICCA focused on chemical health and safety, energy and climate change, and responsible care, and it was willing to help CPCIF integrate with the world and to have cooperation on a broader and deeper basis.
Representatives of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, CPCIF, CNPC and other central SOEs were present at the meeting.
