On 28 Feb., the Special Program on Spring Ploughing 2011 was officially kicked off in Hainan. It is sponsored by CCTV-7, agriculture-focused channel of CCTV, co-sponsored by China National Chemical Information Center and supported by Shandong Kingenta Ecological Engineering Co., Ltd..
This special program initiated by CCTV-7 will be organized in a number of major grain producing provinces, including Hainan, Henan, Anhui, Hebei and Shandong, in a northward and westward way. During this period, experts, scholars, technicians, entrepreneurs and entertainers will be invited to the field to boost the morale for spring ploughing by interpreting policies and popularizing agricultural science and technology in the ways that are well received by farmers. Meanwhile, the activity of authentic agricultural inputs into rural areas will also be conducted. Agricultural technicians will then teach farmers how to identify fake agricultural inputs and how to choose, purchase and use agricultural inputs in a scientific way and help farmers raise their awareness of rights protection; and tens of thousands of service manuals on spring ploughing 2011 will be distributed to farmers free of charge as well to assist farmers in their spring ploughing activities.
The agriculture-focused channel will present coverage on spring ploughing through various programs, such as Focus on Sannong , Daily Report on Agricultural Economy and Life 567, in cooperation with multiple media, including China Network Television (CNTV), China National Radio (CNR), Farmers Daily, China Agricultural Information Network, and www.QQ.com. Its aim is to attract more attention to spring ploughing, encourage more people to join the related activities, help to fight the serious drought, ensure effective spring ploughing and promote agricultural production by integrating the resources and strengths, and make contribution to ensuring food security of the country.
