Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has been tipped to replace Charlize Theron in an upcoming remake of a cult 2005 French thriller, to which she has long been attached, reported The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
Both Charlize Theron and Tom Cruise were signed to star in the project, to be retitled "The Tourist," which tells the story of an Interpol agent (Jolie) in Europe who manipulates an American tourist in an attempt to flush out an elusive criminal who is her former lover.

Theron was to star opposite Tom Cruise in the movie, but dropped out due to unknown reasons and Cruise also pulled out of the film to star in "Wichita" opposite Cameron Diaz, and was replaced by Sam Worthington.
Oscar winner Jolie is just finishing an action heavy part in "Salt" and if she takes the role in "The Tourist" it will require one part action and one part seductress.
Production is tentatively set to begin in early 2010.
