Turkey: Leather exports fall significantly

Turkey's total leathergood exports has shown significant drop since the global recession began.

In the first ten months of the year, leather garment exports fell 35% compared with the same period in 2008, while footwear exports were down 25%.

Total leather industry exports were $1.6 billion in 2008, and are anticipated to drop to $1.1 billion this year.
